Happy Halloween!

I must admit - Halloween is not my favorite holiday - although fall is my favorite season. I was going to have Hannah be a black cat for Halloween but I was somewhat lacking in motivation to complete her costume for some reason. Mostly because my mom got her a really cute Halloween outfit for her birthday and because I know Hannah could really care less. And really the trunk or treat at church got rained out and tonight we have the adult session of stake conference and Hannah is getting in 4 molars right now so...our trick or treating will be limited anyway. So...here are a couple of pictures of her in her outfit my mom got her!

On another note - yesterday was a rough day for Hannah because of these nasty teeth (as well as today) and she has just been crying and crying despite all of our attempts to ease the pain. So I decided to take her to the park yesterday to try to cheer her up. She had so much fun and she even stood by herself 3 different times and clapped for herself when she was standing! I decided that if everyday was a "bad" day like yesterday, I would rather that than not have her at all. It was so fun to see her be so proud of herself and I love her cheesy little smile. We are so blessed to have her!

I LOVE FALL!!

I can't possibly express how excited I am to feel cool weather and see pretty gold leaves! Fall is definitely my favorite season! Football - pumpkin/cinnamon smells - cool weather - pretty leaves - school (i know weird but it keeps me busy) - cuddling - and it means that Thanksgiving is near which means Christmas music and decorations are near which means Christmas!! yay!!

We have been a little busy lately. On August 18th by Papa (grandpa) passed away. We got to spend time with him during his last days here on earth and I am grateful for that. I will miss him alot but I know that he is in a better place with people that he has missed for a long time. We had the chance to go to Monticello, Utah for his burial. Hannah was an excellent traveler (thanks to her favorite uncle Logan being goofy enough to entertain her for hours on end) and we got to see family that I hadn't seen on a realllly long time. This picture was taken in July at Luigi's. It is the last picture I have before Papa got put in the hospital.
This picture was taken right before the funeral in Odessa.

On September 29th, Jeff and I celebrated our 2 year anniversary! Our friends Gabe and Leslie took Hannah for the night and we ate at Las Brisas (amazing!) and then Jeff took me to get my present...a new washer and dryer!! I was sooo excited!! The old dryer we had would buzz really loud every 5 minutes until you opened it and it drove me crraazzy! don't get me wrong - i was grateful to have it but I am soooo excited to now have a nice quiet washer and dryer! Even more than the washer and dryer though - I am grateful for my husband of 2 years. He has worked so hard to provide for us, he is a great father to Hannah, and he provides me with unconditional love everyday! I love you Love!

On October 2nd, we celebrated Hannah's 1st birthday! Due to our unexpected trip to Utah and some catch up on school work - I was slightly unprepared for the big day but we got it done and it was lots of fun. Our friend Leslie made the cake which was cute and so delicious! Hannah got lots of toys - her favorite being her pink car. I can't believe she has been with us for a year already! We are so grateful for her and love her so much!

Speaking of Hannah - she is getting so big! She will be walking as soon as she gets the confidence to do so. When we hold her hand we aren't even helping her - she is just a little chicken to let go. She is finally growing some hair! except most of it is on the back of her head...but it's enough to put a bow in! and it is starting to flip in the back - too cute! she says "meow" "oo oo oo" like a monkey and "uh uh uh" like a dog and "dad" and "ha" for hi. She waves, blows on her food to cool it off even if it is cold, claps, and im sure she will do something new tomorrow!

Baby Nicholas #2 is a girl! As of tomorrow I will be 22 weeks (5 1/2 months). The baby is about 11 ounces and almost 8 inches long! And she is very very busy in my tummy!

School is going good. I teach 2 kindergartners how to read every tuesday and thursday which has been fun and I have learned alot!

Funny Moment

A conversation between me and my mom the other day at Rosas:

Mom: "Oh! I found the cutest pajamas for Hannah the other day at Wal-Mart!!!"

Me: "Really!?! I can never find cute pajamas at our Wal-Mart. They always have Priinsesses on them...ugh!" (in a disgusted tone)

Mom: (with a disappointed/uh oh/sad look on her face) "Oh...you don't like the princesses?? Their only on one of the pajamas..."

haha - oops!

A new semester!

I think we can all agree that there is some kind of excitment in a new fall semester. School doesnt start at Tech until this thursday (yes that is an odd day to start). I am pretty excited actually. I am only taking 9 hours so Jeff can watch Hannah and get some work in but I am grateful to be able to take that much. I believe those 9 hours consist of classes on teaching children how to read and something about billingual-ness. We will see.

Jeff has been a very busy bee! Last week he did 4 seminars for 4 different school districts and got a TON of leads. Now he gets to go after all those leads starting today in Brownfield. I am so grateful to have such a hard working husband. I know it cant be easy getting up at 3:30 in the morning to go to the airport and work so we can have health insurance AND then finish the day setting up people's retirement. Thank you Love!

So this is kind of random but I have been having a hard time finding clothes this summer. I think the style of the summer has been weird and it is almost impossible to find "modest"clothes. Anyway, so this weekend we went to Odessa and I visited my favorite Express store in all the land - yes - the one in Odessa. (I can NEVER find anything at the Express here in Lubbock - and I used to work at the Odessa one so im a little partial). I found alot of cute stuff and all of it can be worn as this busy bee in my tummy grows! AND it was tax-free weekend AND they were having a sale AND I got a coupon to get 25% off my whole purchase! woo hoo! and then I got some new black heels! I hadnt shopped like that in awhile and it felt great!

On another note - the reason we were in Odessa was because my Papa is not doing very well. He will be 92 tomorrow (the 26th) last week they diagnosed him with lymphoma (sp?) It is fast growing and they havent given him a ton of time. Because of his age he has decided not to take treatments so we are basically going to just try to make him as comfortable as possible until his time comes. Please keep him in your prayers.
Papa sometimes says funny things and when Jeff and I were telling him bye to come home I told him to be good. His response was "If you cant be good, be sanitary" haha never heard that one!

Hannah is growing so fast! We took the cats to Odessa and put them in a crate in the back of the car. Kitty meowed the whole way there and Hannah starting meowing also! haha Now when you ask her what a kitty says she does this cute little meow. I cant believe she will be a year old in a month!

This is kind of a long blog but I still feel like I am missing something. Sorry their arent any pictures with this but I need to get ready before Hannah wakes up. OH! and thursday I am going to start a Zumba class at Tech. If you don't know what zumba is - it is kind of a mixture of aerobics and latin dancing. sooo fun! I am so out of shape and cant wait to feel in shape again! I decided that it is time for a new pair of tennis shoes - I have had the same hot pink pair since the 8th grade! When Jeff gets home we are off to find a pair. I wonder if they will last as long??

Guess What?!

Jeff and I and Hannah are very excited to announce that Baby Nicholas #2 is on the way! February 16, 2010 is the due date (my little brother's birthday!). As of today I am 11 weeks along and tomorrow we get to hear the heartbeat! We feel so blessed to have another addition to our family!

A bunch of different things

well...Im not sure why it has taken me so long to post this time but...here I am! This is kind of an everything post. We are all still doing well - just enjoying the summer time (although some cooler weather would be nice!). We have recently discovered the lovely 8 million dollar "Student Leisure Pool" that was just finished up at Texas Tech. I though it was going to be stupid but it is actually really really nice and it is quite kid friendly! anyways - it has helped cool us off in this crazy heat.
Jeff made some brownies the other day and Hannah enjoyed the batter!

Hannah also enjoys paper from the phone book...who wouldn't??
Hannah and I watched Ice Age the other day and the menu screen has that crazy squirell sliding across the screen. Kitty kept trying to catch the squirell and couldnt understand why when she looked behind the tv it wasnt there. I found this quite entertaining
Hannah helping dad put up dishes - what a cute little helper!
Jeff's sister Jenn and her family came to stay with us for the week of the Fourth and they invited us to their friends house to pop some fireworks - Hannah helped dad with this sparkler and seemed to enjoy them!
This was her original Fourth of July outfit that Nana got her but she had a little accident...I love that kid!
Isn't she just too cute! I love her to death!
Jeff's 10 year reunion was a couple weekends ago and for some reason they decided to have a picnic in the blazing humid 106 degree heat. Poor Hannah was so red in the face from the heat so we stripped her down and took her to the near by water park. She wasnt really sure about the water spouts but her face lighted to a pink so I am pretty sure she felt better. Other than the heat, the reunion was fun - I met alot of his old friends and we got to dress up nice and go to the fancy banquet while Hannah stayed with Jeff's brother Jesse and his wife Katie. We were grateful that they watched her - other than temple trips, it was our first time out together as a "date" (although I am feeling as though we need a real date sooon".
I think i mentioned in an earlier post that Jeff added a chair rail and re-painted Hannah's room as a suprise for me when I got home from Arkansas - here it is! didn't he do a great job! he even picked the color all on his own!

Hopefully the next post will be sooner than later!

It's June!

I can't believe it is already June! Crazy how time goes by! Hannah turned 8 months yesterday (June 2). Crazy! She is crawling all over the place and getting into anything she can reach.

Last weekend I went to Arkansas! I don't know how it happened I did not get a single picture from the adventure. Sad story. But our friends Shea and Jessica moved there so I went to see their new home. It is soooo green and beautiful there! I really wish I had gotten pictures! While I was there I got to go listen to Sheri Dew speak at a womans conference. She gave a really good talk on divine destiny.

While I was gone, Jeff decided to re-do Hannah's room for me. We never really finished it because Hannah came earlier than we expected and there were some things about it that I didnt like. I was sooo suprised when I got home and he did such a great job! He added a chair rail and re-painted the top half. He even picked out the color on his own! I love him!

Monday Jeff and I all of a sudden decided to go to Odessa to suprise my family for the day. We swam and ate Luigis! yum! My parents were really excited that we came.
